I am thinking about going back to school to get a BS in Business Administration.

I would like to know what the difference is in careers in Finance and Accounting. Has anyone had a career in either field? What I want to know is:

What did you think of your career?

What did you do all day in Finance or Accounting?

Did you find it exciting or really boring?

For a career as a Financial Planner or Financial Advisor, do you work off of commision only?

Any information would be very helpful. Thanks.

I have a MBA degree and concentration in finance, looking for an entry level financial analyst position in the corporate finance area. What are the important skills normally required? I have a feeling that what I’ve learned from school does not match what are wanted in real world. So what skills are really expected from an entry-level financial analyst?

The perks and downfalls of the job and the best banks to work for. However none of that is important if I don’t actually get to work at a bank so basically how do you recommend that I get hired at a bank?

Interview Question Why do you want to work in the banking industry?

Saturday, May 24th, 2008
jimmy l asked:

Hey all,
I have a few interviews coming up for some entry level internships with a few banks (both commercial and investment in divisions such as Operations and Compliance). I am a senior in college.

I was wondering what is a good answer that will score points with the interviewer to the “Why do you want to be in the banking industry?” question.

My answer to this question would be that I like the corporate work environment, set work schedule, offers challenging work, and that the banking industry is something I want to learn more about as a career. Is this a good enough answer and does it sound genuine? Let me know what you guys think. Thanks in advance!
